Lifeline Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Data controller

The data controller for the Lifeline app is:

BurmCorp Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Kollwitzstraße 76
10435 Berlin
Germany

Represented by: Nils Torben Burmeister
Phone: +49 30 20009797
Email: legal@burmcorp.com

2. Overview

Lifeline is a personal calendar and diary app. This policy explains what data the app processes, for what purpose, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO).

Lifeline is designed to keep your life line on your device. We do not operate a Lifeline cloud account, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. What Lifeline stores on your device

Events, notes, preferences, categories (threads), and related app settings are stored locally in the app’s library on your device (using Apple’s SwiftData / on-device storage). This data stays on the device unless you back it up through your own system tools (for example iCloud device backup, if you have enabled that at the OS level).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract / provision of the app you requested) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in running a functional local app).

4. Apple Calendar access

If you choose to connect Apple Calendar, Lifeline requests access to your calendars in order to import event titles, times, durations, notes, locations, and calendar names/colours so they can appear on your line. Imported calendar data is stored locally with your library.

Calendar permission is optional. You can use Lifeline without connecting calendars. You can revoke access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via the system permission dialog) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for processing needed to provide the import feature you requested.

5. No tracking, ads, or social plugins

Lifeline does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or social media plugins. We do not build advertising profiles from your life line.

6. No Lifeline account server

BurmCorp does not run a Lifeline backend that receives your events. Features such as calendar import talk to Apple frameworks on your device; they do not upload your library to BurmCorp servers.

If you contact us by email (for example at legal@burmcorp.com), the data you send in that message is processed as described in our general company privacy policy for communications.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights regarding data we hold (for example support emails), contact legal@burmcorp.com.

Data that exists only on your device is under your control: you can delete the app or clear app data using system tools. We cannot remotely access or delete your on-device library.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for our company is:

Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
