1. Data controller
The data controller for the Lyriker app is:
BurmCorp Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Kollwitzstraße 76
10435 Berlin
Germany
Represented by: Nils Torben Burmeister

2. Overview
Lyriker is a personal songwriting app for capturing lyric material and building songs on iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data the app processes, for what purpose, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO).
Lyriker is designed to keep your library on your device first. We do not sell your lyrics or use them for advertising.
3. What Lyriker stores on your device
Materials (lines, titles, recordings and related metadata), songs and sections, pin relationships, labels, custom stages, saved words, syllable corrections, relative pitch annotations, appearance and display settings, and related app preferences are stored locally on your device (application support / documents storage as used by the app).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract / provision of the app you requested) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in running a functional local app).
4. iCloud Documents mirror (optional)
If you are signed into iCloud on your device, Lyriker may mirror library data and audio assets through Apple’s iCloud Documents (ubiquity container) so content can appear on your other devices signed into the same Apple Account. BurmCorp does not operate a separate Lyriker account server that receives your lyrics.
iCloud processing is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. You can disable iCloud for the app or sign out of iCloud in system settings.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing multi-device continuity you enable at the system level, and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where a system permission or setting constitutes consent.
5. Microphone (optional)
If you record a melodic idea or vocal sketch, Lyriker requests microphone access to capture audio as material. Recordings stay in your library (and may be mirrored via iCloud Documents when available). You can use Lyriker without recording and can revoke access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via the system permission dialog) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing the recording feature you requested.
6. Speech recognition (optional)
If you use on-device transcription of a recording, Lyriker may use Apple Speech frameworks to produce text so search can find words you sang. Processing follows Apple’s speech / privacy rules for the APIs used on your device. You can skip transcription and revoke related permissions in system settings.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the transcription feature you requested.
7. Wordbook network requests (optional)
When you look up a definition or request rhymes / related words in Wordbook, Lyriker may send the search term you entered to free public APIs:
- dictionaryapi.dev — dictionary entries
- api.datamuse.com (Datamuse) — rhyme and related-word suggestions
These requests happen only when you use those features. They do not upload your full song library. Third-party processing is governed by the respective operators’ terms. Offline search of your own library does not require those calls.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing the lookup you initiated, and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where applicable for voluntary network use.
8. Share & export (user-initiated)
If you share or export a song (for example via the system share sheet), the content you choose leaves the app under the control of the destination you pick. That is not continuous background transmission to BurmCorp.
9. No tracking, ads, or social plugins
Lyriker does not include third-party advertising SDKs, marketing trackers, or social media plugins. We do not build advertising profiles from your lyrics.
10. Support & company communications
If you contact us by email (for example at legal@burmcorp.com), the data you send in that message is processed as described in our general company privacy policy for communications.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights regarding data we hold (for example support emails), contact legal@burmcorp.com.
Data that exists only on your device or in your iCloud account is under your control: you can delete the app, clear app data in Settings, or manage iCloud. We cannot remotely access your on-device library except through channels you initiate (for example support email).
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for our company is:

12. Website & company policy

This Lyriker policy applies specifically to the Lyriker application.
